Legal
Terms of Service.
Last updated: April 27, 2026
Welcome to Encore. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
Encore is operated by Michael Edelstein, a sole proprietor based in New York. For any question about these terms, write to admin@encoreconnections.com.
Who can use Encore
You must be at least 18 years old to use Encore. It's an adult product for adult social connection. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll delete it.
You agree to provide accurate information — your real name (or a name you go by), an age that's actually yours, and current photos of yourself.
What Encore is
Encore helps people reconnect with someone they noticed in real life. You log where you were, the app finds overlap with other users who were there at the same time, and if there's mutual interest, a match is created and you can chat.
What you may not do on Encore
- Impersonate anyone else.
- Create a profile for someone who hasn't consented, or upload photos of another person without their consent.
- Use the app to harass, threaten, intimidate, or send unsolicited commercial messages.
- Solicit or promote anything (including sex work, products, or services).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate interactions with the app.
- Create more than one account per person.
- Attempt to circumvent our safety mechanisms (rate limits, blocks, confidence scoring, or reporting).
Violations may result in account suspension or termination, with or without notice.
Content you post
You keep ownership of the photos, bio, and messages you contribute. By posting them, you grant Encore a limited, non-exclusive license to display them to other users of the app as part of delivering the service. We don't train AI models on your data, sell your content, or use it to target advertising.
Our content
The Encore name, wordmark, visual identity, and app design are ours. Don't clone them.
Service availability
We try to keep the app running, but we don't guarantee uptime. We may change or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice. If a major change affects how your data is handled, we'll tell you in advance.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and immediate; we cannot restore deleted data.
We may delete your account if you violate these terms.
Disclaimers
Encore is a platform for connection, not a background-check service. We don't verify user identities, backgrounds, or intentions. Use your judgment. Meet in public. Tell a friend where you're going.
The app is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that a match will happen, that a match will want to meet you, or that a meeting will lead to anything.
Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Encore is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the app — including emotional harm, lost opportunities, or the behavior of other users.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify users in-app before they take effect. Continued use of Encore after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and Encore agree that the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Encore.
